At UYARE Leeds, some days go beyond food and hospitality — they become a celebration of human connection, compassion, and the quiet joy of giving back.
This year marked a truly special milestone for us — 10 years of Hope 💚
🌿 Our Journey with Hope Community Village
Our relationship with @hopecommunityvillage began long before Tharavadu even opened its doors. Back in 2014, when Tharavadu was still a dream taking shape, we made a promise:
“Our very first day’s sales will go to a cause that brings real change.”
That promise led us to Hope Community Village, a charity in Kerala that gives children a loving home, education, and a sense of belonging. From that day forward, Hope became part of our Tharavadu family — and every year since 2015, we’ve hosted a special charity lunch where every penny raised goes directly to them.
What makes this tradition even more beautiful is that our incredible team volunteers their own time — cooking, serving, smiling, and creating an afternoon filled with love, laughter, and meaning.
✨ This Year: Uyare Joins the Celebration
This year’s 10th anniversary charity lunch was truly one to remember — a coming together of Tharavadu and UYARE under one shared purpose: to give back.
Guests gathered for an afternoon that was nothing short of magical — delicious South Indian flavours, laughter echoing through the space, and even a few moments of unexpected creativity when some guests turned their empty plates into art inspired by our Kerala wall murals! 🎨🍽
And amidst the joy, came the heartwarming news —
💚 Together, we raised £5,700 — the highest amount ever raised at a single Hope event!
Each donation, each smile, and every shared story became part of something much bigger — a ripple of kindness that travelled across continents, straight to the hearts of children in Kerala.
💖 Giving Back Where We Belong
As a business deeply rooted in community, both in Leeds and Kerala, we feel a profound responsibility to give back where we exist.
Beyond our fundraising lunches, we currently support five children at Hope Community Village — taking care of their education, health, and wellbeing. Watching them grow and flourish is one of our proudest achievements, reminding us every day that success means little without compassion.
🌞 Looking Ahead — Hope Never Stops Growing
Ten years of Hope is not just a milestone — it’s a reminder of how far a simple act of kindness can travel.
From our family at Tharavadu and UYARE, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported, donated, volunteered, or simply shared a kind word about this initiative. You’ve all helped us build something truly special — a legacy of love and hope that continues to inspire.
Here’s to many more years of community, connection, and giving back. 🌿✨
“At the heart of every meal we serve, there’s a story of togetherness — and Hope is our most beautiful chapter yet.” 💫

Celebrating 10 Years of Hope
At UYARE Leeds, every story begins with community — with people, purpose, and a passion to make a difference.
This year, we celebrated something truly close to our hearts: 10 Years of Hope, marking a decade of giving through our annual charity lunch in support of Hope Community Village in Kerala.
Our journey with Hope began even before Tharavadu Leeds opened its doors. Back in 2014, when Tharavadu was still an idea filled with dreams, we made a promise —
“Our first day’s sales will go to a cause that changes lives.”
That promise became a tradition. Since 2015, we’ve hosted an annual charity lunch in Leeds, where every penny raised is donated to Hope — an organisation that gives orphaned and destitute children a loving home, an education, and a real sense of family.
Even more inspiring, our team volunteers their own time each year to make this event happen. It’s one afternoon where service, smiles, and compassion come together — reminding us why we do what we do.
Uyare & Tharavadu Unite for a Beautiful Cause
This year’s event was extra special — not just because it marked a decade of giving, but because Uyare and Tharavadu joined hands for the first time to host the event together.
Guests gathered at Uyare for an afternoon filled with warmth, laughter, and Kerala flavours that spoke straight from the heart. There was food, friendship, and even a touch of creativity — some guests turned their empty plates into colourful works of art inspired by our wall murals!
And then came the moment that made it all worth it —
Together, we raised £5,700 — the highest total ever collected at a single Hope charity lunch!
Each smile, donation, and shared story became part of something greater: a bridge between Leeds and Kerala built on kindness and compassion.
Giving Back Where We Belong
As a family of restaurants deeply rooted in both Leeds and Kerala, giving back is at the heart of who we are.
Beyond fundraising events, we are proud to support five children at Hope Community Village, taking care of their education, health, and wellbeing. We’ve watched them grow over the years — each milestone reminding us that success is not measured by numbers, but by the lives we touch.
“To serve food that feeds hearts as well as stomachs — that’s our true purpose.”
A Legacy That Grows Stronger Every Year
Ten years later, this annual event is more than a charity lunch — it’s a legacy. A symbol of what’s possible when people come together for something bigger than themselves.
From all of us at Uyare and Tharavadu Leeds, we want to say a heartfelt thank you — to everyone who joined, supported, donated, or simply shared our story. You’ve helped us make a real difference, and together, we’ve written one of the most beautiful chapters of our journey so far.
Here’s to the next decade of hope, love, and giving back.
At the heart of every meal we serve, there’s a story of togetherness — and Hope is our most meaningful one yet.
